Thank you everyone...

We are finally back and in the swing of things after the honeymoon and a visit to Canada for Grandpa Jack's funeral.

We'll be posting a link to the wedding photos soon and I'll set up a link for you to post your photos to my Flickr account.

We can't even begin to thank everyone for all the love and support we have received at the wedding and in the weeks since. We had a great time and are still pretty blissed out.

We are getting excited...

Things are coming together (slowly) and we're getting excited to see everyone. Please RSVP if you haven't done so already.

Also, feel free to leave comments or send us notes or pictures to publish in this blog... I'm going to start posting pictures and notes about some of our friends and family that will be involved in the ceremony.

We would love to hear from you.

Day of the Event

Just for fun...
If you are in town and up for it... join us for a morning surf/paddle out. Location is tbd, check the blog (feel free to call our cells if you don't have internet) at 8-8:30am and see where we are heading... depends on the surf conditions. Chances are Rincon (if there are waves) or paddle around Hammonds if it is flat. We will be out 'til around 11am : )

Ceremony

2:30pm: Arrive at beach trail.

Make your way to our lovely beach ceremony on Hammond's Beach, Montecito.
(this is for you to have a little extra time to enjoy the path that leads you to the beach... allow at least 15 minutes to park and walk to the ceremony).

Update: There is ample parking on Wyant Road across the street from Hacienda Floreada (210 San Ysidro Road - i.e., the house where the reception is being held). We intend to have a shuttle van to take you from the house to the beach trail. Alternatively, you can walk down from the house or simply drive to the end of San Ysidro and park in the parking lot or along the road (note: parking is limited). The shuttle will be available to get you back to the house as well.

3:00pm: Ceremony begins

After the ceremony, leisurely walk along the beach and make your way to the house for cocktails & tapas at 4pm. We will all come together with the toasts around 5pm. Then have a seat and lite a candle for a lovely dinner outside... sunset is at 6:24pm! There will be the cutting of the cake around 7, to be served with coffee outside under the stars.

This is an all ages affair, so if you need to get your little ones home for bed now is a good time, between 8-9pm ; )

We will leave the dancing for the after party...
9:30pm-whenever, meet up at Elsie's to take over the dance floor... http://www.yelp.com/biz/elsies-tavern-santa-barbara
Note Elsie's is 21 and over.

Let someone know if you need a ride - this group is more than happy to coordinate. We will have a cab company on call...

Attire is beach elegant, but in true Kelly style... feel free to wear your flip flops all night ; )

Traveling from outside of California?

Santa Barbara has an airport served by a number of major airlines or their regional carriers (e.g., United Express). Tickets are generally more expensive and connections through Los Angeles (LAX) are sometimes hit and miss. Another option is to fly into LAX and rent a car or take the Santa Barbara Air Bus (http://www.santabarbaraairbus.com/lax/index.php) which stops at Hotel Mar Monte (one of the hotel options below).

If you choose to drive, it takes a little under two hours and I recommend taking the coast through Malibu. If you are interested in doing so, email me and I can give you good directions.

Wedding/Reception Location

The wedding will be held at Hammonds Beach (
Exit Highway 101 at San Ysidro Rd and head toward the ocean. You are on Eucalyptus Lane. Park near the Saints By The Sea Church and then walk until you see a path on your right that says "Hammonds Meadow Trail." It leads through tropical plants to the beach). Reception to follow nearby at Hacienda Floreada, located at 210 San Ysidro Road in Montecito.

Places to Stay

Most hotels in the area require a two night minimum on weekends (i.e., Friday and Saturday).

Montecito Hotels:

Montecito Inn
King bed $285/night on Fri & Sat. $159/other nights.
Very close to the reception, possible to walk. We hear it is nice, but have never stayed there. Free parking. There is a block of 10 rooms being held at this price under Lisle/Schroeder until August 17th.
http://www.montecitoinn.com/

Coast Village Inn
$169/night or less.
Great price for the area. Very close to the reception and the Montecito Inn.

Four Seasons Biltmore
$525+/night.
A truly beautiful and luxurious hotel, right on the beach and very close to the wedding and reception

Santa Barbara Hotels:

Hotel Mar Monte
$179 (plus 12% tax)/night
Great spot! Across the street from East Beach and walking distance to the zoo, skate-park, carousel, and pier. Add a Ocean View for $50. surcharge. Close driving distance to the reception... 10 minutes. We have 10 rooms on hold at this rate, ask for David with any questions. These rooms will be released on September 16th.

Cabrillo Inn
$139+/night
Super simple, but great price for Santa Barbara. About one mile towards Santa Barbara from the Hotel Mar Monte. Hotel is across the street from the beach, skate-park, and walking distance to the pier and carousel.

Inn at East Beach
$180+/night
Just up the street and behind Mar Monte is the Inn at East Beach. I love this little hotel for the price and location. Nice people and quiet.

Fess Parkers Double Tree Resort
$309+/night
This resort is huge and I have not stayed there, but it is a Hilton - so if you have points could be a great option. They may be able to do one night stay which is very hard to get on a weekend in the Santa Barbara area. Great location, about 1 mile towards SB from the Hotel Mar Monte. Across the street from East Beach, skate-park and walking distance to the pier and carousel.
you can also check houses for rent...

House Rentals

If you are interested in renting a house, there are some good deals on weekend or weekly vacation rentals. We recommend looking at Craigslist or VRBO.com:

http://santabarbara.craigslist.org/vac/

We realize Santa Barbara can be an expensive place to stay. If none of these options work for you, please let us know and we can help you find something more affordable.

We are so excited to see everyone.

Lots of love,

K + B
